Last January, PokerCollectif spoke you of the case of cheating at the Borgata Winter Poker Open.
A few weeks later, a similar story happens on the WSOP Circuit; Indeed, Chan Pelton, the winner of a side event in the WSOP Circuit of Palm Beach, tried to steal one of the tokens of 25,000 of the final table (to keep a souvenir he claimed when asked about his gesture).
On Twitter, Randy Dorfman raised this question to the Director general of the WSOP, Ty Stewart: "what inspires you the attitude of Chan Pelton who tried to steal one of the tokens of 25,000 to a side event in the WSOP Circuit? It shouldn't be permanently banned tournaments of the World Series?"
The response of Stewart: "the investigation is ongoing. But I can confirm that it is forbidden to take tokens, whatever may be your intention. Zero tolerance! "."
The suspect in this case, Chan Pelton, won February 13 event no. 9 of the WSOP Circuit Palm Beach festival. This tournament $ 1.125 has helped with the winner pocketing$ 47,000. What is even more impressive is that it is for him to his third award on this circuit and his second in less than a week.
For now, one is still at the stage of the investigation of this case. The only decision taken so far has been to freeze the funds of the player.
Regarding the new, a communiqué was issued on the website of the circuit:
"After the end of the No. 9, the staff of the tournament event realized that a player had withdrawn a token of the set used during the final table. The Palm Beach Kennel Club and local authorities are currently investigating this issue and the player in question. Pending their conclusions, we will not be able to finalize the tournament leaderboard. We in will announce the winner as soon as a decision has been taken".
The outcome of this case will be known within a few weeks. When they will be made public, PokerCollectif will be to share.
