Magnus Carlsen is interested in poker

If you are more or less familiar with the world of chess (the game, of course), the name of Magnus Carlsen you said maybe nothing. But Carlsen is one of the best players of all time failures. At age 23, he is currently the world no1 with a 2872 Elo rating (the highest ever). Only 6 players in history have managed to obtain a greater than 2800 Elo rating.

Dubbed "The Mozart of chess" Carlen showed its world superiority by winning in December 2013, the World Championship against Anand.

In a recent interview given to ChessBase.com, Carlsen talked about his other passions.

[Translation]

SPIEGEL: Is that you leave in the clubs a few times?

Carlsen: Rarely, I prefer talking with my friends and play poker online.

SPIEGEL: The money?

Carlsen: of course! What else?

SPIEGEL: What do you win?

Carlsen: If I take a game seriously, I win. If not, I lose a few times. But it does not matter to me. What is important is to have a life outside of chess.

SPIEGEL: why?

Carlsen: Failures should not become an obsession. Otherwise, there is a danger of slip into a parallel world in which you will lose your sense of reality, in which you will be lost in an infinite cosmos of this game.

Many wondered after reading this interview, on which site played Carlsen and what was its "screen-name". It is not yet known if he has success in this game.

Now that Carlsen proved to the world that he is the best chess, what will be his other projects? Will there be the challenge to become one of the best players in the world?

Do you believe that his chess skills may assist in poker? Do you believe that he can become a world class player of poker more easily than another player?

In closing, here's a recently published video in which Carlsen quickly beats Bill Gates (a competent player of chess without being expert). Carlsen has a Bank of 30 seconds while Gates was one of 120 seconds.

The result was no surprise obviously.
