Italy: Rely on Hendon Mob to impose players?

Could the tax authorities rely on a site like Hendon Mob for you impose income from poker? According to Hendon Mob, it would be a mistake to do so since the data on this site is not 100% accurate. In addition, in some cases, agreements that players make at the end of a tournament to separate fellowships are not taken into account.

In 2011, the Italian authorities have launched the 'All-in' operation to recover amounts not seized by the tax authorities on poker players gains made abroad. The period covered is from 2006 to 2009. According to the authorities, the poker player must declare his poker winnings in the category "other income". However, in Italy, there is no "poker player" status, which would prevent a player to deduct certain expenses such as travelling and accommodation during major tournaments.

The official authorities of Italy State that one of their official source to determine the amounts unclaimed players is Hendon Mob. It is not for nothing that several Italian players, when they learned the news, asked Hendon Mob to no longer publish their results.

In this regard, the Hendon Mob owners declare: "we have never been contacted by the Italian authorities, but are very often by players. We have no evidence that they use our bases of data or for what purposes. If someone uses data from our site without our consent, it violates European law on the use of websites and the law for the protection of the copyrights on the databases".

To date, several players have accepted to pay the tax on their earnings, others have refused and others made an appeal (and some have been successful).

Can Hardeyeyhe Mob be an official source for the Italian authorities in their 'All-in' operation? Since the poker player has no specific status in Italy, should be required to pay the amount that the tax authorities asked him?
