MONTRÉAL, 27 July. 2014/CNW Telbec / Late yesterday, an agreement in principle has occurred between the unions representing the dealers of casinos in Montreal and Lac-Leamy, and Loto-Québec.
"The details of the tentative agreement will be made public when the members have had the chance to vote on the proposal" explained Jean - Pierre Proulx, Union Advisor with the Canadian Union of public employees (CUPE). "General meetings will be organized quickly to ratify the agreement."
Representatives of the dealers and their employer were in intensive negotiations since the beginning of this week. Dealers are without a contract of work for the month of March 2013.
The dealers from Montreal Casino had voted for means of pressure that can go up to the strike on May 28. The Lake Leamy Casino croupiers had taken the same vote on 10 June. Employees shall cease all means of pressure started.
The unions won't further comments before the holding of general meetings.
With over 111,000 members in Quebec, CUPE represents approximately 3500 members in Quebec government agencies and Crown corporations.
