It seems to me that we repeat this new every two weeks, but this time it seems that it is good! The agreement between the Bernard Tapie group and Full Tilt Poker for the resumption of the poker room is expected to be concluded by the end of the week at best (today or tomorrow) and from here to the week next to the worst. This is at least a section of the Gaming Intelligence site in which one can read the words of counsel for the GBT, Behnam Dayanim refers.
For those who want a summary of the story, last November, an agreement between the GBT and the U.S. DoJ helped GBT to buy the assets of FTP for $80M. Since that time, it brews the paperwork again and again. In an interview with PokerStrategy, Dayanim confided that both parties had agreed to set deadlines to 16 March next to reach a deal.
According to Gaming Intelligence, the agreement could be finalized before March 16 (today?), but gives no source for this purpose. Hard to say whether or not it is credible.
If you want to be more optimistic, note the eGaming site States that FTP could well resume its services next April. Before, the poker room should have to reimburse the US players to whom it owes the sum of 150 M$.
Hope that this operation should take place quickly.
Questioned by the PocketFives, counsel site of GBT said that an official statement will be released when the deal between the GBT, FTP, and the DOJ will be finalized.
As usual, PokerCollectif will give you details on this case as they become available.
Discuss of reopening next (we hope) Full Tilt Poker on our forums: case Full Tilt Poker, chapter 153
