Canada is a hotbed for poker talent. Although the country has seen a huge influx of American poker players in recent years, their own talent can still hold their own. Below are the most successful Canadian players to have ever graced the professional felt.
Daniel Negreanu - Career Earnings: $29,973,908
You need only look at the money that Daniel Negreanu has amassed over the years to realise that he was one of the big boys in the world of poker. In the World Series of Poker (WSOP), Negreanu has won himself six bracelets. He has also made it to the final table it 31 times and finished with money on 78 occasions.
Although he finished second in last year's WSOP Big One for One Drop, the money he earned saw him move to the top of the live tournament earnings list. With such precocious betting talent and acumen, it can come as surprise no. that Negreanu is currently classed as the best poker player of the last decade. Jonathan Duhamel certainly has the potential to usurp Negreanu as Canada's greatest ever player. Considering he is just a tender 27 years old, he has a huge career ahead of him. At the World Series of Poker he has earned himself one bracelet, made it to the final table on six occasions and had 21 money finishes.
Duhamel, however, does possess one thing that Negreanu does not. That is an in the money finish at the WSOP, something he achieved at the 2010 WSOP. Duhamel has been ranked as high as number five in Global Poker Index

Despite still possessing a baby face, Mike McDonald has developed a reputation for being ruthless on the table. The 25-year-old has not been as successful as he would like at the WSOP. He is still waiting on a bracelet and has made the final table just one time. However, outside the WSOP the guy is a machine. He is a prodigal its of poker, so to speak. When he was just 18 years of age, McDonald won the European Poker Tour German Open in Dortmund. He is the youngest player to have ever won on that tour. That win in 2008 saw him scoop $1,370,161 in prize money.
Sorel Mizzi - EC: $11,079,537
Sorel Mizzi is enjoying a hot 12 months. His current ranking in the Global Poker Index of makes him the most successful Canadian eighth on the tour right now, as well as the fifth best player from North America. So far Mizzi has failed to win a bracelet at the WSOP but he has made it to the final table on three occasions. Despite not ever winning a title, Mizzi has established himself as one of the more consistent players on the tour. When the prize money is as good as it is, it countries to be consistent.
