A first casino to the Japan for 2019?

For the moment, the Japan has no land casino on its territory. The reason is simple: laws prohibit this type of activity to the Japan. But things could change by 2020, just in time for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

According to some analysts, the market would become the second world, just after Macao.

If we rely on the article published by Reuters, Minister Shinzo Abe is about to present a draft law to regulate casinos to the Japan. According to estimates, the first casino of the Japan would open its doors a little before the Olympics, either in 2019.

Groups of casino operators MGM Resorts International, Las Vegas Sands Corp. and Wynn Resorts Ltd., Melco Crown Entertainment have already expressed their interest to develop casino complexes in the Japan.

Other cities that Tokyo could also host casinos.

The casinos would increase the hotel capacity in the Japan and could generate up to 10 billion turnover. A big advantage in the future Olympic Games.

The project includes a regulatory authority built on the model of the Nevada Commission of the games or Singapore. In other words, only operators deemed fit would get their licence.

To quote the project:

"The barriers to enter this business will be difficult to overcome. It should be easy for anyone to obtain a licence and to participate in this industry. With good regulation and a correct application of the law, there absolutely no reason the casinos become the homes of criminal activity".

Among other concerns, there's one to hold the gap (the yakuza) Japanese organized crime. For this reason, there would be creation of an agency that would issue the licences.
