Optimal Payments specializes in online games payments. It is this company which operates the door-leaf virtual Neteller, well known poker players. Soon, Optimal Payments will provide its payment solutions to the American Caesars Interactive Entertainment Group for its entry to the United States in the regulated market of online poker!
The company will also offer other services as its gateway service (also called gateway) online payments-related.
In this regard, president of Optimal Payments, Joel Leonoff said:
"It is a revolutionary agreement for Optimal Payments and demonstrates our ability to bring real value to land-based gaming operators and their brands, and represents the first step in our strategy to capitalize on the regulated market in the United States."
The Neteller eWallet is also the former name of Optimal Payments company and already exists for more than 10 years.
As a reminder, John Lefebvre and Stephen Lawrence, the founders of the group, were arrested in January 2007 by the authorities American and accused of promoting illegal gambling payments and payments for these products, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act in October 2006 (UIGEA) was made illegal.
The two leaders each had paid $100M and the Group 136 M$ in the Department of justice to settle the matter. The Group has since tried to diversify into other areas of electronic commerce, but the majority of its revenues still come online games.
Following this announcement, the shares of Optimal Payments increased by 6%.
For Optimal Payments, it is his first contract for its services for payments in the game in the United States. After the re-interpretation of the Wire Act in December 2011 (stating that online betting that did not include bets on sports, were illegal), several States have begun to regulate online gambling.
Nevada is the first State to have made the first steps in this direction. According to our observations, it also appears that the Delaware, New Jersey, Illinois, California and Iowa (in majority, the brief more democratic States) want to follow this direction.
Caeasar is waiting for a complete regulation in Nevada and Optimal Payments has been postulated to be registered with the Nevada Gaming Control Board. The company do not think that the online activities of Caesar will begin before 2013. It is not yet clear if the offer of online game will be popular.
