The GPI Player of the Decade Project is a project dealt with Eric Danis of the Global Poker Index . Their goal is to find the player's poker of the Decade. Only tournaments lives count. Players are ranked according to a points system. You should know also that only 12 results per year may be considered, 120 in total.
At the top of this list, include Daniel Negreanu "KidPoker". In total, he won 6 WSOP bracelets and was appointed twice player of the year WSOP. He also won the title of player of the year by Bluff and Card Player magazine.
Negreanu is currently the 3rd most big winner in the history of poker with 19,549,209$, including $ 17.440.753 earned on the period 2004-2013.
Following the news, Negreanu said:
"I am very honored by this award. I worked hard on my game during these 10 years, this is why I always manage to win consistently despite a harder competition every year. I never wanted to rest me on my laurels and win has always been important to me. The game has changed a lot during these 10 years, but not the key to success: confidence. "I begin this new decade more confident than ever".
