The World Series of Poker Europe 2011 draw to a close with the main event which is played at the moment. The tournament series takes place from 7 to October 20 in Cannes, France.
Six events are played during this prestigious annual event of the best poker players in the world, including the PokerCollectif stable.
Indeed, several members have registered for tournaments, starting with the number 1 event, a tournament Hold'em 6max' no limit. The buy-in for this tournament was 2680euros and 360 players are paid to one seat for a total of 864,000 euros in grants. It was Guillaume Humbert who won the biggest purse of 215, 000euros! Special mention to Sam Chartier (a member of our forum) who finished in 25th position and won a scholarship of 5789 euros.
The event number 2 is a Hold'em Tournament ' no standard limit to 1090euros. 771 players are registered and it is Andrew Hinrichsen who finished ranked first. Special mention to Erik Cajelais which has finished in 20th place, thus earning a scholarship of 6269 euros. Legend Aaron Jones has finished in 80th place.
The event number 3 was a little less popular and attracted only 180 players. Probably because it is Pot Limit Omaha. Champion, Steve Billirakis, won a grant of 238,140 euros for his performance. Once again, special mention to Sam Chartier who finished 8th for a scholarship of 26,610 euros.
The number 4 event was a tournament Hold'em shootout' no limit. For those in not accustomed the shootout format, it's several sitNgo 9 players that must win to advance to the next round. The winner of each table advances to the next round, so that there are only 9 players to create the final table. This tournament has attracted 258 players and the buy-in was 3200 euros. The winner of this tournament has been awarded 182,048 euros. The majority of the paid players are from United States.
The event number 5 was a Hold'em Tournament ' no limit (split format). Dr. performance of the "grinder", Michael Mizrachi who finished first in the tournament $ 10,400 buy-in. Another $336,008 that goes Bank for him. When this type of tournament, you have interest in playing for the top position since the 5th position pays approximately 50,000 euros while the first position pays almost 7 times more!
The number 6 event was a tournament Pot Limit Omaha 6 - max. 339 players spent EUR 1620 to have their seat in the tournament. A name stood out more than any other in this tournament; that of Philippe Boucher aka PhilLeDingue on PokerCollectif. Not only has he finished in the 1st row in this tournament (and pocketed 124,584 euros), but it also eliminated each of the players on the final table. In short, it has completely destroyed its opponents. PokerCollectif sincerely congratulates Philippe for this achievement! If a player deserved a WSOP bracelet, it is he who would have tons of Lady to tell you at major tournaments. Perseverance today bears fruit for him! Philippe is the only Canadian having made money in this tournament.
The last tournament, but not the least, is still playing at the time of this writing. This is the Main Event of 10,400 euros. 593 players participated in the tournament and at that time, 17 are still in the race to win the bracelet. Among the fellows, famous Chris McClung alias the guy that good run Blackjack alias the alias D0r1t0s roux finished the 28th for 32,000 euros. It must obviously be disappointed since the tournament began very well, but with the number of money finish he did in 2011, we do not give it the right to complain!
