An uncertain future for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition will be available on August 19 and we learned today that the game will ship with the latest version available on PC, but that future updates were uncertain.

Posted on Bettle.net site, a Blizzard team member said that for the moment, no detail was official on future updates of the console versions. These will be based on version 2.0.5 and an update on the first day should bring these versions to 2.0.6.

We're still working out all the details regarding if and how Ultimate Evil Edition will be supported post-launch (e.g. will we patch the game after it ships? if yes, should we only patch to fix bugs and address critical issues game, or should we patch in new content as well? at what frequency should we patch?), so we don't have an answer for you right now. That said, I can confirm that UEE will ship on all platforms with all updates included up to patch 2.0.5 and that there will likely be a "Day 1" patch to add in patch 2.0.6 content, too.

As we move closer to ship and finalize our post-launch patching plans, we'll be sure to keep you updated. Great question, though!

Each new version available on Windows PC always brings a considerable lot of novelty change and tweek. Diablo 3 has evolved greatly in the last months and a decision not to transpose these changes made to the Windows PC version to the consoles could considerably brimer players of these.

Only time will tell if Blizzard decides to support Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil in the future. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. (US: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360)
