Last month, a representative of Blizzard had left doubt as Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition could not see the future updates available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Today, Blizzard confirms that the support will be available for the PS4 version.
In a message on the official US PlayStation blog, the Director of production at Blizzard, John Hight, confirms that the updates will be done almost at the same time as the one made on PC.
One more cool piece of news for PS4 players: the next-gen console architecture makes it much easier for us to offer ongoing patch support for the PS4 version of the Ultimate Evil Edition. This means that as we continue to patch the game on PC, we’ll now be able to roll out related patch content, as appropriate, on PS4 as well. It’ll take some additional time beyond the PC patch rollout, but we’ll get them to you as quickly as possible.
No official news for Xbox One, but since the architectures are similar, it is easy to bet that Microsoft's console should receive the same treatment.
Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition will be released on August 19 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. (US: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360)
