After years of waiting, the fourth iteration of Doom has been officially unveiled, detailed, and named. Known simply as Doom, this game brings the story back at the beginning of everything.
At the Conference of this year QuakeCon, id Software has unveiled the new game and finally details exactly what we can expect. Doom focuses mainly on fast combat and it takes place on Mars, outside a building of the "Union Aerospace Corporation". You will face many melee combat and these will be brutal. ID is currently in the design process of crazy enemies and weapons. You will be able to carry a large arsenal at all times, said Marty Stratton executive producer.
Doom seems to be particularly violent. During a private demonstration, the player tore an arm of a guard to pass through a biometric scanner. The player then continued to carve a path with the mystic chainsaw, a real carnage!
No details on the release date has yet been announced, but the game will be available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It works on the id Tech 6 engine in 1080p and 60 frames per second.
